Saturday, March 21st 2015: We are very proud that our client, the Merck group, was awarded the prestigious "Innovationspreis der deutschen Wirtschaft" (the Innovation Award of the German economy), for its Merck Innospire grassroots innovation process. Congratulations Merck!
MTI² is proud to have co-created and supported the Innospire program since 2009, a grassroots innovation process that has generated more than 20 patents and new business ideas that represent an estimated business volume between 200-500 million euros.
In 2014, published a white paper with an in-depth analysis of the Innospire program. The white paper was published as one of the chapters of the book Innovation and Marketing in the Pharmaceutical Industry, a book edited by our partner, prof.dr. Stefan Stremersch together with Prof.dr. Jehoshua Eliashberg (Wharton) and Prof.dr. Min Ding (Smeal College of Business, Penn State University).
The chapter discusses the mechanisms that we helped Merck put in place to ensure the success of Innospire in generating customer-centric innovation and profitable new business for Merck. This award recognizes the validity of the success drivers we highlighted in our chapter, where we also discuss lessons from Merck's process that can be generalized to other innovation-intensive companies in life sciences and beyond.
