Sumitomo's TUAKA wins prestigious HERMES award 2022

Big congrats to our partner Sumitomo Cyclo Drive Germany GmbH for winning the prestigious HERMES award at Hannover Messe 2022! We had the pleasure to be involved as a consultant to validate the market with them for this innovation and develop the go-to-market approach. This award confirms that Sumitomo's R&D and market launch process is in excellent shape, or in words of the HERMES jury: Their TUAKA product impressively demonstrates its innovative strength.

The fully integrated drive for robotic applications and automation technology is suitable for high-precision, sensitive applications in service robotics as well as for interaction with humans. Furthermore, the modular concept and building block systems enable the necessary hardware to be configured to the specific application. The TUAKA product family redefines the highest standard for safety and durability. This allows our new technology to unfold its full potential, because the symbiosis between human and machine always remains perfectly controllable.

Bettina Stark-Watzinger, Germany's Minister of Education and Research, presented the prize on 29 May at the Hannover Messe opening ceremony in the presence of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The HERMES Award is Hannover Messe's international technology prize and is presented each year at the event. Also called "the Oscar of industry". The Hannover Messe is one of the world's largest trade fairs, dedicated to the topic of industry development.

This is a great accomplishment by TUAKA team, so our team at MTI² would like to send a warm congrats to Sebastian Markert, Mathias Blaskovic and the whole team. From our side, at MTI², we are also very proud of having played a role in bringing this product to market.
